What is a Life Group?
Imagine having a group of people who really knew you, and who were committed to praying for you, and encouraging you without judgment, wherever you may be in your journey towards Christ. That is the kind of opportunity that Life Groups provide... not only to be in authentic relationships with others in your stage of life, but to be led by someone a little or a lot farther down the road of life.
What People Are Saying About Life Groups.
Kevin Eichinger, UW-Madison Graduate Student:
"I have always enjoyed coming to Blackhawk, but making the decision to join a Life Group has made it even better. Getting to know a small group of people from church on a more personal basis has really made a difference in making the church feel like home. I also get a lot more out of the sermons when I discuss them with others afterwards and get to hear different views and thoughts. I always look forward to going to my Life Group as one of the highlights of my week."
Abby Szewczykowski, UW-Madison Undergraduate:
"The experience of being in a college age life group has been irreplaceable. In this small group setting, I have been able to forge deeper and lasting relationships as my group and I explore Gods word, reflect on the sermon, and try to apply what we learn. Life group has allowed me to "do life together" with others in my situation, sharing the excitement of their joys and encouraging them when things get tough. More than that, being in a life group has helped me connect to Blackhawk better through getting to know others, outside of my age group, namely my leaders, not to mention that is gives me the chance to get off of campus once a week and remember what it's like to be in a home, with a family, a living room, and homemade treats."
Nick Matthews, UW-Madison Undergraduate:
"With Blackhawk being so big these days, my life group has been very helpful in making the church feel smaller to me. I've gotten to know 15 people on a much deeper level than I could have by just seeing them every Sunday. It provides a good mix of serious, thoughtful discussion and casual conversation about life, and I really appreciate the diversity of opinions and personalities in the group. It's nice to have two hours set aside every week to relax, slow down, and just think about life."
