Katie

So a little about me. I'm a sophomore at UW, studying Economics. I grew up in Hartford, WI, a smaller town north of Milwaukee. My favorite color is orange. I am a random person and enjoy adventures and anything that breaks the normal routine. I quote movies and songs a lot, very aware that most people don't get my references =). I love getting to know people and laughing, oh and smiling, smiling's my favorite (name that movie). I'm a nerd, I just read "Inheritence" in one night and will have a Harry Potter or Star Wars marathon whenever. I love being outside the most though, hiking, biking, camping, whatever. Now on to how I got here.

I joined Blackhawk's College-Age Ministry as a freshman. I was pretty involved in my church back home and was looking for that same type of Christian community here in Madison. CAM just seemed to fit, it wasn't huge, I was able to get to know people right off the bat. I really enjoyed the talks on Tuesday nights and felt like I was learning a lot about God's word and how to apply it to this new chapter in my life. Here I am a sophomore coming as often as I can because I've really found a family in CAM. I've gained some life long friends who I know will always be there for me. This ministry has given me opportunities to serve, both in Madison and abroad, opportunities to grow deeper in my faith through life groups and trips like Passion, and community to lean on through the ups and downs of college. God has used this ministry in my life in big ways and I know he will continue to through out the rest of my time in college. I've learned a lot about how God is calling me to serve and how to trust him in a very transistional time of life. CAM has been a real gift in my life as a ministry that welcomes and supports all of us no matter where we're at or where we've come from, in Christ image.
